The Squirt Boys Blazers had their first taste of provincial championship competition when they played in Whalley July 10 - 12.
The 10 and 11 year old boys finished round robin play with a two and two record, defeating Abbotsford and 100 Mile House. They advanced to the double knockout playoff round, dropping their first game to Clearwater but rebounding with their second victory of the weekend over the Abbotsford Aces. Hopes of moving into the medal round ended with a loss to Kitimat on the final day of competition.
Coach Al Charlesworth was pleased with the teams play over the weekend and noted that as a first year team, this season proved to be a great building and development year.
